HomeDecode.in ("we", "us") operates a local business discovery platform for India. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is intended to follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Information we collect

• Visitors and customers: name, mobile number, email address and message details you enter in enquiry or review forms; approximate location if you choose "use my location" or type a place or PIN code.
• Business owners: account details, business name, address, location pin, contact numbers, photos, services, offers, and any documents you upload for verification (such as registration or licence documents).
• Payments: plan and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment partner (Razorpay); we do not store them.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and security logs used to keep the service safe and working.

2. How we use it

• To show business listings and pass your enquiry to the business you chose.
• To create and manage business accounts, listings, plans and payments.
• To send one-time passwords, account notices and replies to support requests.
• To review listings, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
• To understand and improve how the website is used.

3. What is public

Information a business owner adds to a listing (name, address, phone, WhatsApp, photos, services, offers, hours) is published so customers can find and contact the business. Verification documents are never published. Reviews show the reviewer's first name and rating.

4. Sharing

When you send an enquiry, your details go to that business. We also share data with service providers who help us run the website (hosting, email/SMS delivery, payments), only as needed, and with authorities when the law requires. We do not sell personal information.

5. Retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect it.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing support@homedecode.in. Business owners can edit most details from their dashboard.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for login, security and form protection. If analytics tools are used, they help us understand site usage in aggregate.

8. Grievance contact

For privacy questions or complaints, contact our grievance officer at support@homedecode.in. We aim to acknowledge requests promptly.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The latest version will always be on this page with its date.
